When burning an ISO to CD, I accidentally clicked the Eject Volume
option in the right click menu on the desktop. On this action, Brasero
froze and gave an error a few seconds later. The option should be
removed or the icon removed from the deskto
I encountered it on 8.10, so updating the description with more info and
marking incomplete.

This is happening to me on Hardy with 2.6.24-16 when copying large numbers of
files.
Weird thing is that Compiz remains perfectly responsive (desktop switching)
but every other application including Firefox and and the terminal emulator
continue to remain unresponsive for me minutes to *hou

I am having the same problem on Hardy with pidgin 2.4.1. This might not
be a problem with pidgin since I can't log in using their html client
either (although I am using Firefox). Also, this appears to have
happened to me at the same time this bug was reported. I suspected it
was a round of plugin
Work around: open any file folder, use the edit menu then preferences
option, then the preview tab and change "Preview Sound Files" to "Never"
I have not had this recur since making that change.

This problem is worked around by opening a file browser window, going to
edit->preferences->preview and turning sound preview to "never." I also
reduced the settings on other previews and I have not encountered this
problem since.
