Confirmed, running Ubuntu 13.10. I cannot install latest libimobiledevice
package (1.1.6) as the PPA doesn't cover the latest ubuntu release.

You're right, that was the problem, because of the confusion induced
when we expect to close a program and instead of closing it minimizes to
the tray...
