Same behavior on my Thinkpad R50e.
The buttons work, but Jaunty cannot recognize them :(

Just upgraded to 9.04 from 8.10.

I renamed my .mozilla folder to .111mozilla and started firefox so as to
automatically create a new .mozilla folder.
The bug is still there, both in normal mode and safe mode. :-(
After that i made the following test:
Closed firefox and reopened it. Tried clicking and releasing the mouse button

I confirm this bug too.
I am running Ubuntu Intrepid 8.10 on a thinkpad. Intel graphics card and
firefox 3.0.8 with mouse gestures redox 2.0.3 extension.
The bug occurs when LEFT clicking on a menu and triggers the first menu
item. That is when i left-click on file menu a new firefox window opens
