To make life more interesting this seems to be also related somehow to
the combined headphone/microphone combo jack issue I have, because it
only appears when I use my headset, but only when the microphone is also
recognized. Sometimes the microphone doesn't get picked up when I plug
in the headset

problems) that is causing really weird bugs related to all kinds of

I experienced this bug when trying to start Ubuntu 18.04.2 Live DVD on an ASUS
R515M.
What happened was that the screen was blank, at first I thought the issue is
with UEFI... I edited grub boot options for Linux (adding "nomodeset" instead

packages are available at http://asylum.madhouse-
project.org/projects/debian/ - you are recommended to use that
repository if you need a newer syslog-ng on Lucid.

For many years I have been using azureus to download torrents. Azureus needs a
graceful shutdown and I've been using a shutdown script for that since kde3.
The problem is that with kubuntu 13.04 the script is not called even though
System Settings seem to set it up correctl
After today's update the compiz from the vanvugt repository has stopped working.
compiz-plugins-main and compiz-lugins-main-default was updated which are not
provided by the ppa.
A lot of plugins are not loaded, all of them complain that a symbol is missing:

But there is a workaround. See comments #150 and #181 .
