r8169 module, multicast doesn't work o
I identify the problem to be because of ubiquity-slideshow-ubuntu.
Here is a simple workaround :
- boot the Live CD and select "Try Ubuntu"
- open a terminal and launch "sudo apt-get uninstall ubiquity-slideshow-ubuntu"
in it
- close the terminal
- run the installer ('Install Ubuntu").

I've just compiled and installed the latest driver from Realtek, but I
still have a problem with multicast :(
Could somebody else confirm that multicast is not working ? for exemple,
both avahi and ipv6 autoconf don't work.
Is there an email to report that to Realtek ?

Evolution setup assistant windows is too large... It should really fit to a
800x600 screen (or 1024x600 as it's a common size on netbooks). The upcoming
ubuntu 8.10 is said to be well suited for netbooks, so this problem should be
fixed (and it's not today)...
Ubuntu/Gnome guidelines may specify
I also have a similar problem on Hardy. When the computer idle the
backlight level is reduced to the minimum, but when moving the mouse the
backlight level is always set to half level... I would prefer it is set
back to the level I set it to (with acpi keys) before the computer idle.

I've installed the new 2.6.27-1 kernel (and restricted modules) and 8187SE is
not recognised :(
I really hope this driver will be include in Intrepid Ibex... and the multicast
bug fixed.

I've just installed kernel 2.6.27-1 and I still have the multicast bug
with my realtek 8101E (r8169 module).

RTL8101E...
I have no chance, my MSI Wind both has a 8101E and a 8187SE, both with the
multicast problem :(
