This problem is vry sad. Flashplugin (and gnash neither) doesn't
work under Ubuntu 10.04 64 bits . Cannot instal or re-install neither in
the terminal, nor by Synaptic or the updates mannager :-(

Now with 8.04 (and I am running a derived distro with scientific
packages, called Poseidon) sound is fine in my Acer laptop. Just the
wireless card is not working... One more step to happiness ;-)

I'm running Kubuntu FF 7.04, 64 bits, in an Acer Aspire 5043 WLMi laptop
(and I have tried also Ubuntu 7.04 32 bits version) and there is no
sound (not from audio CDs, movies, mp3 or even system "dings").
Running lspci -v in the terminal, I get:
00:14.2 Audio device: ATI Technologies Inc SB450 H
In my Acer laptop, I get NO sound at all! with Kubuntu64bits (FF_7.04) or
Ubuntu 7.04.
And according to the forums, this is quite common with Ubuntu.
It's a shame, because, besides that, is an excellent distro! Please, put some
more generic option that may run ;-)
