Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: software-center
At present it is not possible to install the latest version from the
Maverick Daily PPA (3.1.7~bzr1358~maverick1) because the dependency on
python-aptdaemon >= 0.40 is not satisfiable. The latest version I was
able to install was 3.1.4~bzr
I'm afraid I'm unable to install 3.1.7~bzr1358~maverick1, because the
dependency on python-aptdaemon (>= 0.40) is not satisfiable.

Online).

Having said that, the output when installing VB Guest Additions wasn't
entirely positive.

Removing installed version 3.2.8 of VirtualBox Guest Additions...
Ubuntu reports the VirtualBox "drivers" as enabled on my Natty
Virtualbox machine. With the old compiz in Maverick this was enough to
get Compiz running with effects.

My apologies, I only had only tested this on packages I had already
installed.
However I think if the package is already installed then a message
should be displayed regardless. I think this is what the specification
says also.
I'm not sure what the anticipated use cases for the ?minver syntax is
