On initial installation of Ubuntu Lucid Lynx 10.04 Alpha 1 I waited for
the hardware drivers available notification to activate then clicked on
the activate button to download and install the available nvidia driver
(185) and received this error message(see summary).

ubuntu 9.04. Installed ubuntu; installed vlc media player and listened to
groove salad, streaming via soma.fm radio.
Decided to run KDE desktop; installed packages but could not get vlc media
player to stream radio. Decided not to run
