After a KDE session startup my laptop gets hot quite soon. top shows
that virtuozo-t is consuming about 170 percent of CPU power. This is
true even when the laptop is detached from AC power. Disabling
Nepomuk/Strigi in Systemsettings does not help - the process is still
there.
Also - I am testing this VM in Virtualbox 4.1.2 on Windows 7 x86_64
system, with Intel graphics host card, if this is of any importance.

I use laptop Lenovo X220i with Ubuntu 11.10 x86_64, KDE from standard
repositories. I noticed that battery level applet becomes "stuck" at
certain number (whatever the level was when the event happened) after
resuming from suspend. If I check /proc/acpi/battery/BAT0/state then
I don't know what happened with my installation, but since last reboot I
am able to connect with 3G modem. Here's an excerpt of /var/log/syslog
when I insert the device and then connect with it:

Just installed Oneiric x86_64 alpha1. I'm behind a HTTP proxy.
Therefore I set it both in Settings and also tried in command line
(export http_proxy=...). The settings are correct - Firefox and wget are
able to use them to download stuff from the outside Internet.

When running PDFLaTeX with UTF-8 documents and bibliography styles
gost780s, gost71s with Russian letters in 'author' and 'title' fields -
they produce incorrect UTF-8 symbols which are inserted at certain
points (author's initials).

Seems that this issue is still repsent in Lucid x86_64. Kile is slow
when working with large documents, to be precise, GUI responsiveness is
low.
Starting Kile with '--graphicssystem raster' does help.

At Samsung N130 Fn+Up/Down keyboard combinations that are marked as
"change screen brightness up/down" does not trigger effect at all. I

I experience the same problem on my Samsung N130. I use it with custom
installed Kingston SSD Now 64GB hard drive. The problem has risen during
installation attempt. So I had to perform the installation of 9.10 with
options "acpi=off noapic". Everything went fine, but the freshly
installed system w
