This package cointains .jpg images, not code responsible for drawing the
wallpaper. I'm marking this as invalid. If I remember correctly,
Nautilus was responsible for drawing the background, so you can report
this bug against Nautilus.
BTW your Unity panel looks weird. Maybe Ubuntu wasn't correctl
Closing all the windows didn't work (and I have desktop handling by
Nautilus set to off), but after killall nautilus it appeared and works.

I have this problem too, but not at every startup. It only happens
sometimes. Also gnome-tweak-tool often crashes (similar to comment #15 )

I have finally forced myself to go back to this bug. Tested with Linux
3.12 rc3 from mainline ppa. AMD C1E set to auto -> can't boot. AMD C1E
set to disabled -> boots normally.
I probably should send a mail to the maintainers, but last time I did
it, I got no response from them. Maybe I've screwed

This problem with shutdown is caused by acpi=off parameter.
ACPI is responsible for powering your PC off, so when you disable ACPI,
you have to turn your PC off manually. It's not a bug.
(But inability to boot with ACPI enabled is a kernel bug.)

Good news! Today I had some time to play with it and I have created a
simple, but working patch. It just puts gnome-raw.thumbnailer (see
comment #20 ) in /usr/share/thumbnailers/ during install.
I tried to make a PPA for testing, but all this bzr, ppa and package
building stuff takes way more than

WORKAROUND: I have to boot it with acpi=off and nolapic, without any of
those two system won't boot. (As a side effect it detects only one CPU
core
I disabled HW acceleration on my Precise and everything is OK. But
comment #164 gives valuable information and you should follow this guide
instead of just disabling HW acceleration.

Yes, I have revision 3.1. When I checked last time (~2 monts ago) newest

Well, now Ubuntu uses GTK3 themes and GTK2 acts only as fallback. I
think this bug is outdated and should be marked as invalid or something,
in order to clean bugs up a bit.
