In most cases, I guess that code being compiled against ubuntu's
libgcrypt is also compiled against some other library in /usr/lib/arch
triplet/, which allowed this bug to remain unnoticed so far.

I realised later that compilation breakage only happens under particular
conditions.
In my case, I was compiling a project under jhbuild, with libgcrypt being the
only dependency taken from the system, so that their was no
-L/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu in the command, which makes me wonder

On ubuntu 11.04, libgcrypt-config gives the following linking parameters:
$ libgcrypt-config --libs
-L/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu -lgcrypt
But there is no libgcrypt.so in /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu:
$ /sbin/ldconfig -p | grep libgcrypt.so$
libgcrypt.so (libc6,x86-64) =
I can reproduce the issue on a t410s. In auto, the fan speed never goes
much above 4000rpm, even though un unengaged it can reach ~6100rpm. This
allows the temperature to raise to the security self-shutdown at 128C,
e.g. when compiling big projects.

The attached patch (against lp:elisa, should apply on older versions)
should fix the issue. It would be good to have it applied in Jaunty's
Elisa package before Jaunty gets out if that's still possible.

Anything that we (upstream) could do to help fixing this? It is quite
important for us, as 0.5.9 was quite buggy and lacked a lot of important
features.

From the output of it, it seems to me that you are unable to play sound
through pulse audio. Are you able to play sound at all in the machine?
And are you able to play sound with totem?
In any case, there definitely is a gstreamer error sent on the bus (the
last warning is in our gstreamer error
I have been successful in building an nvidia.ko that works with my xen kernel
(2.6.24-16-xen on hardy). I've achieved that through awful hacks, basically I
applied (partly by hand) the patch found at
http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=78632, and I basically bypass
the conftest.sh
After some more investigation, it seems that the #defines of APIC_ID,
APIC_BASE and friends are ifdef'd out in the xen patch (in
asm/apicdef_64/32.h), and only APIC_DEST_ALLBUT, APIC_DEST_SELF and
APIC_DEST_ALLINC get to be redefined in an enum. Yet obviously, sutff in
asm/smp_64/32.h makes use of
OK, even more investigation: the big issue is that nvidia is not using
the normal kernel building stuff to build these tests. I am trying to
modify their test system so that it uses it.
This confirms that it is *not* a bug in the xen headers of ubuntu, but
rather an nvidia bug (my guess is they
