I am using ubuntu 9.04.
When I try to connect to a printer connected using samba with system-
config-printer, it crashes suddenly showing a segfault error.
The crash comes when you expands the PC field connected to the samba

Chipset: Intel dual core 64 bit.
Nvidia: Nvidia geforce 6 series (restricted driver).
lspci:
00:00.0 Host bridge: Intel Corporation 82945G/GZ/
I've seen that I have the same problem running ubuntu without running compiz
and It's not a hardware problem because I have also güindous XP installed and I
haven't had this problem yet.
It's strange, but sometimes works fine and sometimes not, and It's not a
question of which software is runn
Do you have some idea how to solve it? Or some way to limit it?

When I put a not-rewritable DVD, ubuntu doesn't mount it automatically.
However if you mount it manually it just works (with this log, in
Spanish sorry):
sudo mount /dev/dvd /media/cdrom0/

Yesterday I updated to 7.04 and my EWX2496 now doesn't sound (I does
with prior versions).
I also have a SBPCI card and it sounds ok.
I attach my outputs to help debug sound problems.

working fine in my Ubuntu Hardy Heron but when I have upgraded to Ubuntu
Intrepid Ibex the system does not detect the scanner although all the
brother configurations are all right. If I write in the terminal:

Yesterday I updated to 7.04 and my EWX2496 now doesn't sound (I does
with prior versions).
I also have a SBPCI card and it sounds ok.
I attach my outputs to help debug sound problems.

It's quite strange but probably ubuntu heats more the cpu than windows XP.

When I have upgraded to ubuntu 8.10 the disk usage analyzer chart
doesn't display the folder names when you move the mouse on it. I know
it works correctly before the upgrade because I have just tested it
moments before the upgrade

Yeah, sorry you are right. It's strange but before the update I remember that
the information came instantly and now I did not wait enough time.

I have installed the multitask brother MFC-7820N with scan options
working fine in my Ubuntu Hardy Heron but when I have upgraded to Ubuntu
Intrepid Ibex the system does not detect the scanner although all the
brother configurations are all right. If I write in the terminal:

However if you mount it manually it just works (with this log, in

So, couldn't you test it using the 32 bit java libraries?

When compiz is activated, the PC stops running suddenly and I must wait because
the CPU temperature is over the threshold. My PC is:
Chipset: Intel dual core 64 bit.
Nvidia: Nvidia geforce 6 series (restricted driver).
lspci:
00:00.0 Host bridge: Intel Corporation 82945G/GZ/
I've seen that I have the same problem running ubuntu without running compiz
and It's not a hardware problem because I have also güindous XP installed and I
haven't had this problem yet.
It's strange, but sometimes works fine and sometimes not, and It's not a
question of which software is runn
