This 3.0.0-13-server works differently. At first sight it was strange:
After apt-get install linux-image-server (which installed the 3.0.0-13-server),
made a reboot, then this 13-server made a reset during boot process. Then I
booted a working kernel (3.2.0-rc3 from kernel.org): it has been boote
i could manage to mount pendrive by making nodes in /dev before booting
server kernel. See the atached text file.

there's nothing in the syslog in this case
dmesg can be written to the console, but it's not written to disc, and i cannot
login via ssh to copy paste.
/dev system is not usable to mount anything, only the basic nodes are there,
and udev cannot create nodes for pendrives plugged in, since it is
3.0.0-*-server kernels boot with read-only filesystem
both 12-gereric and 13-generic boot correctly, except the one which can
be installed by manual package selection/aptitude during ubuntu
installation process (linux-image-generic package, which installs
3.0.0-12-generic kernel). This one hangs

I actually noticed this as well. It would be nice in terms of
consistancy, and can't be hard to implement. If the user expects it

load the top banner and then just freeze trying to load something. In

Unnerving yes, subtly no... at least not for me, being a full-time touch
pad user. I don't think it's just that I'm used to different settings
(although I'm sure that contributes) - I think the defaults are a bit
messed up. I end up clicking icons twice by accident, for example when

It was working for a short period of time, but then stopped working,
possibly when I edited the number of workspaces. At the moment, if I
enable desktop effects, the number of workspaces is set to 1, no matter
what it was before, and there is no cube effect.
