I'm using Ubuntu 13.04 (with Unity). The following steps causes the same
problem for me:
1- Maximize a window.
2- Minimize the window using the minimize button in its titlebar.
3- Do not click anywhere! By moving your mouse on the titlebar, you can see
that its still there and menus appear

Long titles do not show properly in title bar, when a window is
maximized

I tested it with different desktops. The results are:
Gnome Shell: it happens even when the window is not maximized. It also happens
for maximized window.
Unity 2D: same as Gnome Shell.
And the interesting part is:
Gnome Classic: The problem does not happen! There is no problem in normal
window,

When a window with long title is maximized, it tries to show the whole title in
more than one line, which results to impropper displaying of it.
It occures for me with evience, with pdf files which have long titles. The
title bar shows the middle of two lines of the title!

In Oneiric when you middle click on a folder in desktop, nautilus crashes. So
there are no icons on desktop, no right click menu,
