Tried in "System Manager" without any success. No option available to
de-activate synaptics touch-pad and use my USB optical mouse instead, so
curser becomes wild and uncontrollable.

Title:
Unable to deactivate synaptic touch-pad in Kubuntu 11.04, which makes
my Gateway M6881 virtually unuseable due to the touchpad being broken
