My Notebook(Acer Aspire S3) was affected by this bug, too. I resolved it
by downgrading the kernel to 3.6.11.

Maybe you have to load the driver with 'modprobe ath9k nohwcrypt=1',
because of another older bug.
I had to interrupt the installation process because it was freeze on
another package. Maybe my later attempts to recover the installation
process wasn't as successful as I hoped.
But, the error didn't occur after I did an upgrade and a reboot. So, I
