the unmaximized size is kept when I try to reproduce your testcase
(unmaximize, resize, maximize, close, open, unmaximize).

installed.
The crash seems that was caused by adobe's flash plugin which we can do
anything about it, since it is closed source. You might want to report
it upstream directly.
However notice that you are not using ubuntu's packaged
... if you try to reproduce the crash, please do it in safe-mode,
e.g. from a terminal type: firefox -safe-mode

account a strange anomaly when the file was a text file named hah
(no extension) -- yahoo said it was of type BIN. The file downloaded
