Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: upstart
Upstart seems to not run linux-restricted-modules-common. Maybe it fails. No
idea. However modules/*/volatile is not mounted, the nvidia modules don't load
and thus my X server doesn't start.

When I try to start X using nv, vesa, vga (haven't tested other
modules), I get an error about mismatching modules. However using the
closed source nvidia driver works.
I'm running edgy and 2.6.17-6-k7 kernel.

I cannot reproduce this with dapper + updated packages. I get an icon for an
audio cd. I can also play and eject the cd from the drivemount applet.
Did you try and update your system? There is a new gnome-applets package in
dapper-update (2.14.2-0ubuntu1). Does this fix it for you?

I have the same problem with the drivemount applet (gnome-applets
2.14.2-0ubuntu1). Partitions with option noauto in fstab don't show up.
