There are two physical buttons on the touchpad - when the mouse settings is changed to left handed those two buttons are expected to swap functionality, the button that left-clicked should right-click and the button that right-clicked should left click. There's also a third button - the surface

In addition to the tabs being too small the edges of the tabs don't display correctly, it looks similar to the problem with the sheet control buttons. The sheet tabs are small if you're using the Radiance theme, sheet control buttons are OK. The Hanso theme yields the same results as Ambiance.
