I would like to add some information to this bug report, which may or may not
be relevant.
There seems to be a general problem with HDMI audio in recent kernel versions.
I am using Debian kernel packages, on an AMD64 system with a Radeon R9-280
video card:

system data, as described above. Further testing is required, but
currently this patch seems to be a complete solution to the problem.

I suspect that your bug may be related to one that I have reported,
affecting the "casper" Live CD system:

If so, then the patch that I have already supplied to fix that bug would
probably fix yours as well.

It's a bit more important than "wishlist", since I provided a patch which
implements
exactly what I was asking for, and a good part of what the original author meant
by "FIXME: add a custom mounts configurable system".

Is there any interest in pursuing this feature? If so, I would volunteer
to write code for it, although I would also want to consult with other
people who were familiar with the issues involved.
