I have this problem on the lubuntu 17.10 installer iso that I just
downloaded too. Seems to be not fixed in the released package.

the reboot, the I/O on the / partition (sda) was extremely high. This
was causing sluggish responsiveness on the NFS server who's exported

As we had continuing severe problems with our applications, I downgraded the
entire nfs-kernel-server and nfs-utils packages to version 1:1.2.5-3ubuntu3
using apt-get install nfs-common=1:1.2.5-3ubuntu3 and apt-get install
nfs-kernel-server=1:1.2.5-3ubuntu3.
The I/O problems are gone with this

I am able to confirm that this problem exists. My pidgin worked fine
until 25 May 2011, since then I get this error. I have updated to 2.7.11
from 2.7.6 with no improvement. I am unable to sign into yahoo with my
id's using pidgin.

After a few hours, ktorrent and it's kio_file slaves use masses of
memory. I have Ubuntu 9.10 on an AMD64 system, 4Gb ram. this renders
the system extremely slow as almost everything is swapped out. Quitting
from ktorrent frees the memory.
