When I try to profile a compiled shared object, sprof always fails with:

2.6.25 worked great, I can finally boot a kernel newer than 2.6.20 lol.

Is there a way to save the dmesg file from within a hung kernel? The
SysRq-stuff does respond, but I don't know what keys to press to do it.
Or will one from a successful boot work?

Yep, definitely RAID-related.
When I changed my root to /dev/hda1 (which is a member of my RAID), it
booted fine.
I don't see a /dev/md0 devices and cat /proc/mdstat shows now RAID
devices. I don't know what the deal with that is between kernels 2.6.20
and 2.6.22+.

I'm using the latest 2.6.24-12-generic in the hardy repos. Yep, I've
tried with and without noapic/noacpi and with only one or the other.
The Hardy Alpha2 Live CD did boot fine (which leads me back to thinking
it's a raid issue since /dev/md0 is my root).
I'll try to take a picture when I get hom

I know superficially my bug report looks a lot like 144030, however
there are a couple of differences:
I never get kernel panic/oops/etc., just a hang.
I tried the fixes in that bug report (renaming acpi folder, etc.), none work.
It always hangs at exactly the same spot, right after it prints out
