The old behaviour is back, as soon as I use the laptop on battery. Before it
was connected to AC power.
That seems to be one piece of the problem.

I no longer have the Thinkpad R40e laptop. I sold it to a friend. Now I have
a slightly newer laptop, an IBM Thinkpad R40 type 2723-BAG. This is a
Centrino-machine, and I'm glad to tell it has none of the problems reported in
this bug.

The installed version of gnugo is the one that is current in the Ubuntu

I have done a test by installing quarry and gnugo on another computer.
This computer was recently updated from 6.06 to 6.10 and has not had
quarry nor gnugo installed previously.
The same bug happened here too, and behaved in exactly the same way.

Basically you insert a DVD/CD, mount it, and the window stays empty
until I hit F5, after that it shows the contents of my DVD/CD

Here's how I worked around it on my machine:
I uninstalled amarok, and all xine-related packages I had ( might not be
necessary though ) and I deleted the ~/.xine folder.
Then I reinstalled amarok & it's xine dependencies, and when I tried to

This certainly is a bug of Quarry in Ubuntu.
I have done a clean install of Dapper 6.06 with Quarry and GnuGo in
order to verify it. This was a completely default install, and the
Quarry package from the Universe respository. The error is there, and
