LTSP is not a replacement for XDMCP.
Rather, XDMCP (I guess) is needed as part of LTSP.

Especially not on a remote server.)
But there are some things:
* I never had any idea that /etc/hosts has a connection with the wellbeingness
of sudo
* I've had sudo problems a few
No fix yet? We're almost Hardy!!

Ubuntu boots fine if after the GRUB menu shows, I'm picking the menu
item manually by pressing ENTER on the keyboard.
If I let the GRUB timeout expire, Ubuntu doesn't boot and immediately
restarts.

What gutsy stable update?
I have all repositories enabled (including backports, updates) and my
gdm still can't be used to connect XDMCP.
Both clients and server are Gutsy. Using plain face browser.
If you mean your patch, can you tell me how to apply your patch, thank
you.

Sebastien:
$ gdm --version
GDM 2.20.1
sudo X :1 -query xx works, but unfortunately it's a very rough
workaround.

Still affects Gutsy.
Installing git-daemon-run requires 'touch fix', after that it still
doesn't work. :-(

Workaround is available here:
Doing this solves the problem:
sudo runsvdir /var/service
After that, you can run:
sudo sv start git-daemon
It seems that this (runsvdir) needs to be started upon server startup.
