Caffeine is an application to pause powersaving features/screensavers.
Such an application has many use cases, as right now, not many
applications are capable of preventing power-saving features where
needed, (like movie players)

I don't understand why there couldn't at least be a gconf key for this.
It would be out the way for new users so I don't see any problem with
that.
