Same problem here. I cannot use some java applets because firefox dies
(the classpath warning appears, but disappears immediately). With
intrepid in i386 everything works fine for me.

I started a thread in VUE's forums regarding this matter:

There are links there to a .jar without the dependencies and comments
about compilation of this .jar file.

[needs-packaging] Add Visual Understanding Environment to main
Public bug reported:
I would like this program (http://sourceforge.net/projects/tuftsvue/) to be
added one of the main repositories.
It's very simple, it should only take a few minutes to create the deb for it,
it's all in one .jar file. Notice that the
license is not GPL, but Educational
I've placed a .deb for it at http://salomon.ls.fi.upm.es/vue-2.2.8.deb
Feel free to try it, decompress it, modify it, etc. Note that the .jar
that the VUE project distributes includes part of the dependencies,
which I believe is hardly admissible according to Ubuntu's standards.
Note also that
I confirm both the bug and the temporary fix

Same problem here. It happens a lot, actually.
It always happens right after logging in gnome, I have kde4 installed
although I'm not running it.

Public bug reported:
Hi, I just noticed that the typing break option of gnome (ubuntu
hardy) is not working properly:
I turn on the option, and I configure it for a 15 minutes break every 60
minutes.
It starts counting down, but after a while it stops, showing 54 minutes to next
break five
Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: qemu
Hi,
I just installed qemu 0.9.0-2ubuntu4 and qemu-i386 comes up with a
segmentation fault right after starting it with any parameters (it happens
every time).
Not even qemu-i386 --help shows something.
Tell me what I can send to help debug this.
I installed ubuntu 7.04 and then moved to 7.10. After that change, ip
forwarding stopped working.
I had net.ipv4.conf.default.forwarding in my sysctl.conf file. I just
changed it to ip_forward, I'll give it a try next time I reboot and I'll
report the results.

I would also like this package to be included. I think it could easily
be added as a different Ubuntu package, in case someone decides it
shouldn't be part of the main swi-prolog one. It's part of the official
distribution, though.
