ok... i just tested with kernel mainline v3.9-saucy. and having the same
crash problems.
now, if i could only figure out how to add this tag: 'kernel-bug-exists-

Yes, it was a fresh install of 13.04. The problem started with 12.04 and
I was hoping an upgrade to 13.04 would fix the problem. Alas,
experiencing the same issues with 13.04...

At random intervals, computer will crash and display some sort of kernel
dump on screen. No way to return to normal. Have to hard reset and
reboot computer.

All, with the latest 10.10 update (IIRC, I updated last Thur/Fri) sound
is working fine now.

After this last Maverick update, sound broke.
