(Sugessted to me by Ubuntu community and it worked)Solution is the following: From the terminal type: sudo apt-get install hpijs foomatic-db-hpijs or go to synaptic and type search for hpijs foomatic-db-hpijs and download it. After doing that ... and rebooting the printer would work. jfk
