I had this bug. It caused my ext3 filesystem that it was attempting to shrink, instaling karmic alongside jaunty with dual-boot, to crash. The fsck -y /dev/sda5 took over 18 hours to complete to remove all the errors. For this reason I think the bug should have a higher importance than medium! --

To add insult to injury inserting my E169 kills NetworkManager. I have to remove my E169 stick before I can restart NetworkManager without having to reboot the system. Using the commands above I can start NM but the applet does not come back properly and a reboot it needed to bring NM back fully.
