A regular update required a reboot since kernel components where changed.
After the reboot the X11 display comes up without the second monitor and

I am also seeing this kind of behaviour with latests Ubuntu Maverick 10.10.
The screen gets fuzzy, only the mouse pointer stays ok and can be moved.
Switching to virtual console works, but many message as

experience this problem. When will the 2.0 version distributed as part
of Feisty?
I will try out the -safe-mode. I wonder what this flag does -- please,

My Thinkpad R50 laptop has both Gigabit ethernet using the e1000 driver
and WLAN using the ipw2100 driver.
I configured the correct MAC addresses in /etc/iftab:

Using ethtool -i eth0/eth1 I got this
