but you did it!

After editing /etc/default/grub you have to run sudo update-grub for

Great it works finally for all affected Acer Laptops, maybe other brands too,
there are resuming problems with very similiar Sony Vaios, HPs and Toshiba
Laptops...
So what are the next steps, should I file a bug to kernel

do you have enabled ahci in your bios?
if so. try to switch to ide, but you can't boot your windows system if you have
dualboot.
