Binary package hint: scribus-ng
New version 1.3.3.8.dfsg-1 brings dependency to python2.4. If it needs
python it should depend on 'python'. Versioned python dependencies are
not used in feisty.

Not sure it was xinit package that has the fix but definitely there are
no duplicate files anymore.

I haven't experienced this bug almost since the time I filed this bug
(but it had been happening to me before reporting). It's been probably
fixed with some apt version (I read something in its changelog) probably
the same day I reported this bug.
If it happens again to me, I'll add needed crash d
Confirmed here, it works! At least, there is import dialog that is
accessible from gthumb's menu. Thanks alot!

Found it! ;-)
pkg-config checks libgphoto2 that needs libgphoto2_port (both provided
by libgphoto2-dev package). libgphoto2-port0 binary package depends on
libusb-0.1-4 binary package but libgphoto2-dev DOESN'T depend on libusb-
dev. pkg-config check of libgphoto2_port.pc fails because it can't fi
Still a problem here (greyed "import" in menu, no gthumb's import dialog
after plugging-in camera). gthumb version: 3:2.9.1-0ubuntu3 (it's the
one that says it's really fixing import ;-)).

Workaround is to remove all keyboard related settings from gconf:
1) logout, login in text console
2) kill -1 -1, wait a moment and then kill -3 -1
3) go to .gconf directory and remove apps/gswitchit directory, remove
desktop/peripherals/keyboard as well
4) sudo /etc/init.d/gdm restart
5) login in
Same problem here together with the fact that the keyboard layout is
session-wide and not per-window (as I have set in my preferences)
