I have the same problem with the latest Grub in Ubuntu 17.10. For me it
helped to enable "console" mode inside /etc/default/grub as workaround.
I am using an Nvidia GPU.

Title:
Toolbar font colour issues
Public bug reported:
Hi,
the MATE-Faenza-Dark icon pack has a dark menu icon for the app launcher. I
think it should be brighter, because all other icons match to a dark
theme/panel instead of this one icon.
Thank you
Jan

Hi,
please check the font colour of virtual box toolbar (see screenshot). They are
very hard to read. I guess the theme just needs some colour optimizations.
Maybe this affects other programs as well.
Best regards! :)

Hi Martin, I attached you a screenshot for the first issue mentioned
(Firefox). You can see a active download but no progress bar. Normally
there should be a progress bar visible.
** Attachment added: "progress bar not visible"
I can confirm this on Xubuntu 13.04 x64 with latest updates..

After dist-upgrade desktop takes very long to load panels on Xubuntu
I tried it now on my HP Probook Notebook - same bug.
Fresh installation of Xubuntu 12.04.1, then apt-get dist-upgrade to the
newest kernel 3.2.0-30.48-generic.
In this notebook is an ATI card, but it happens also without the driver, so it
seems not ATI or NVIDIA related..
