I'm running on an Acer Aspire that I installed a fresh blank SSD in with Ubuntu last year. I've never touched or manually edited any grub settings.
The only grub install that I've ever done was directly done through the Ubuntu installer and/or any other subsequent Ubuntu version updates. After upgrading to 14.04, the laptop boots directly to the grub error message reported in this bug. This is a serious issue and is not due to screwing around with grub settings. It is a direct bug caused by upgrading to 14.04. Now I get to spend the next several hours messing with downloading boot repair disks to public PCs and trying to fix this problem... -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1289977 Title: Ubuntu 14.04 Update breaks grub, resulting in "error: symbol 'grub_term_highlight_color' not found" To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/grub2/+bug/1289977/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
