Caner: I believe that Lucid is using Xorg 7.5 not 7.4. Therefore the
ATI driver you are talking about will unfortunately not work with Lucid.
I just checked ATI's website and their latest driver (10.2) still does
not support xorg 7.5. I guess we keep waiting :)

Thanks for your bug report :) I tend to agree with you.
It looks like the proper place to set this would be in /etc/skel/.bashrc which
is part of the bash package.
I'm attaching a patch to set the history to 2500 which seems like it should be
large enough for the vast majority of users.

of lshw does NOT fix the color problem that 527369 reports. This
certainly leads me to believe that they are separate issues.

This seems to have an upstream bug report. It seems to have been fixed
upstream in the current development release. I downloaded the code and
confirmed the the problem was indeed fixed.
Lucid currently has lshw B.02.14.
This fix will go into lshw B.02.15 which has not yet been released.

however... in my attempts I noticed that in all cases (on both systems)
where the lastmountpoint attribute was displayed it seems to be corrupt.
Could this corrupt sequence of characters possibly be interpreted as

I am experiencing the exact same problem on my Lenovo Thinkpad W500. My

This is not exactly a duplicate of #531533. But fixing #531533 to make
Tomboy use "tomboy-panel" as it's icon name will cause the Light icon
theme to pick up the monochromatic icon from the Humanity theme.

I can confirm that the tool tips are indeed gone from the minimize,
maximize and close buttons in Metacity. This affects all Metacity
themes, naturally, not just Radiance. I cannot seem to find a way to
re-enable them in GConf either.
There does not seem to be an upstream bug opened for this yet

I installed Jaunty Alpha 6 today on an EXT4 root file system and I have
not seen this bug yet. I'm not sure if this was a bug that went away in
Alpha 6 or if maybe I have just not performed the correct sequence of

I'm currently working on an embedded Linux project using Ubuntu and
could really use *any* speed up that shortens my system's startup time.
It seems that it would be easy enough to do this since the code was
already been written by the Fedora team. Maybe we could even expand on
their optimization
The "Slow VNC" thing everyone is noticing is actually NOT directly
related to VNC. So trying new VNC servers/clients will not help,
unfortunately.
I suspect that this slowness in my VNC sessions (and probably yours too)
is coming from something in the Gnome session... Very likely gnome-
