lock early (and release late) such that it could guarantee that the
packaging infrastructure wouldn't be in use by another process (or fail
early, rather than midstream, if the packaging infrastructure is in

This problem still exists in the Precise Pangolin beta 1. Is there
something that can be done in Ubuntu to enable an install from CD
without workarounds?

It appears that beginning with neon-0.29.0 through 0.29.2, there was a
bug which caused a stall (hang until timeout) with IIS servers when
closing an SSL connection.
This problem appears to affect Karmic. I recently upgraded and now when
