Found it. There was no sasl inside the folder "filter.d" but [sasl] was
defined on /etc/fail2ban/jail.local (don't know why though...). After
commenting the [sasl] section, everything works.

Hey, same problem here with latest Ubuntu Xenial 16.04 LTS. Fully
updated system and still the same problem with no mouse pointer speed
and acceleration options!!! Are we going to get any fix anywhere soon?
