Follow up to my post 54: I applied the fix posted in bug #1577120 and
now unmounting the NFS drive works, and the system shuts down just fine.
So I would guess the real underlying issue many people here have is
that, even though systemd is terminating timed out jobs it doesn't
actually shut down t
The `nfs-config.service` fix did resolve my issue, but I noticed that
without it the unmount job gets "terminated" by systemd when it reaches
a certain timeout.
As the timeout is reached systemd still reached the "shutdown target",
but fails to actually shut down the system.

it still doesn't shutdown properly.
By the way: 6 shutdown jobs (5 that are for unmounting the encrypted

The system hasn't been up for 2 hours, but it's leaking memory like

Yes. It is a commit that adds a special hid driver for this hardware.
Before that commit, when the bug is not present, the generic hid driver
is used.
So, it's quite possible that the new driver never worked correctly on
USB3 hardware.
I'd like to see a confirmation from somebody on this bug repo
Andy, that makes total sense with what I've been seeing. Perhaps for the
future it would also help if kmod (or update-initramfs) could print some
more information in the error message, such as which exact module
triggers the assertion.

workaround, I made the attached 'mousefix' script. Run it as root and it

I use gscan2pdf on two different locations, where there are two
different officejet scanners.
On one location, when I start gscan2pdf, and select File->Scan, it does
'Fetching list of devices', and it chooses the printer that is
inaccessible on that location

As I mentioned in #954793, I had that problem and it went away when I
turned off the shift switcher in ccsm. Maybe it will help here (that one
is marked as a duplicate of this one).

I had this too, and have found out that it goes away when I turn off the
"Shift Switcher" in the ccsm (compizconfig-settings-manager), and it
comes back when I turn it back on...
Note: When unity crashes, you can get your desktop back this way: login
on the console (ctrl-alt-f1), then type 'unity
After creating a new account and entering my personalized shortcuts
again, it seems to only have problems when I remap the 'Key to show the
HUD' in the Ubuntu Unity Plugin in ccsm. At the moment, it seems to be
working when I keep that setting at the default.

Note: After that change I my alt-tab didn't do anything. I had to go to
ccsm and change the 'Key to start the switcher' and change it back.
And the same for my custom "Go to specific viewport" shortcuts in the
"Viewport Switcher" in ccsm.
And the same for the Tab shortcut I chose for the 'Next W

I got it working by running both:
sudo apt-get install --reinstall libc6-i386 (not sure if this one fixed
anything)
sudo apt-get install ia32-libs*
now I can run
wine tft.exe -opengl

Note: It usually happens to me after a suspend. And I just found out,
that when this happenes, restarting nm-applet with a 'killall nm-applet
; nm-applet >/dev/null 2>/dev/null &' fixes it until the next suspend.

list of 'VPN Connections' often goes to blank, usually after a standby,
and doesn't get back to normal until after I logout and login again...

issue by automatically calculating which regions of the virtual screen
are invisible and creating undecorated windows that cover these regions.
