- Login to Gnome -> "oh no" screen appears
- Press Ctrl + Alt + F3
- Login to the terminal with the same user as before

I have this crash all the time on my Lenovo X220, which uses intel
graphics (so focusing on Noveau may _not_ be the answer here). I don't
notice any actual probelms though, everything is displayed correctly.

gnome-power-manager crashed with SIG
This frequently happens for me on Ubuntu Maverick. It only occurs in
connection with my work email account though (Gmail for Business via
IMAP) though, not with my private account (regular Gmail via IMAP).

Opening the settings dialog via Edit -> Settings, the dialog opens ...
and then opens again ... and again ... and again. If the application is
not killed it would probably open enough instances of the settings
dialog to max out any memory there is.

Anyone looking for a workaround not posted here: you can check your
current keysyms with
xmodmap -pke
Then just switch the keysyms for kexcode 94 and 49 like so:
(Workaround for german layout:)
xmodmap -e 'keycode 49 = less greater Cyrillic_softsign
Cyrillic_SOFTSIGN bar brokenbar' -e 'keycode
Correction: of course the terminal plugin was there, waiting to be
activated. I only checked "Editor component → Plugins" but it's in
"Program → Plugins". Mea culpa and sorry.

In Jaunty kate no longer has the option to open an integrated console
view. It was possible before via Window → Tool views (or whatever, I run
the german version), but it's not there anymore.
