Monospace is not an "own font"; it's not a font that exists. It's a gtk
alias for whatever the system's monospace font is set as, and from your
last comment, that should be Ubuntu Mono. (the 9 in "Monospace 9" makes
it so you don't end up with a 13px font eating your irc window.) IF the

Having specific channels as autojoin often produces more bug reports
than it resolves. Does Ubuntu's policy call for all IRC clients to point
users to #ubuntu by default?
