Its some weird conflict between JDownloader's watch clipboard function
and the copy operation in LibreOffice. Having JDownloader run with the
watch clipboard function disabled works for me.

feature, btw.) causes my plasma-desktop process to produce significant
(i.e., ~ 25%) constant cpu load. The parameters Quality and Rotation
do not seem to influence
