I really had edited the line for /dev/hda by hand, because I formatted
the partition with a new fs and the old UUID did not work any more.
I do not know whether, by throwing away the UUID, I did anything evil
in the sense of Ubuntu, anything I should not do.

This only happens when I select the checkbox that tells xfce to save the
session for future logins.
When I leave this box unchecked, the machine is immediately shutdown, as
it should be.

I have a similar problem on my IBM T21 laptop, but I don't know whether
this is a seperate problem:
Since 2.6.20-12 (every -XX version before working fine), my laptop stops

Strangely, my root partition /dev/hda2 is mounted
One day later (maybe because of the reboot?), the entries appear indeed
in German, except for the topmost entry Applications (which should
read Anwendungen.)
