UPDATE: I see degradation with vv8 as well. Difference between now and the xmas holiday is that my computer hasn't been in idle. So I'll upgrade to vv10 again and see how things go . I'll try and register some more data running vv10 this time (memory usage and so on) and see how things go. Btw.:

Daniel: I may have been unclear, I've always reboot'ed after each upgrade from your ppa. F.example when I came back from xmas and upgraded from vv8 - vv10 I tok a reboot, and I did the same now after downgrading (I rebooted) . A reboot always help, and as described initially in this bug report I

I'm having the exact symptoms as described initially in this bug. I've seen the same problem both with nouveau as well as with nvidia proprietary 280.13 in Oneric, note that I haven't been seriously testing that bit, I've just been switching between the two for the last 2-3 months as a result
