Seeing the same Failed to request VPN secrets problem in 14.10, and
can confirm that a workaround is simply to log out and log back in,
WITHOUT rebooting.

Unfortunately I can't run a Live USB as they don't work. My system seems
to need the nvidia drivers; it crashes after booting with the nouveau
driver. Should I still bother to test with a mainline kernel? Your
instructions are not too clear as to exactly which version I should use.

Just checked in 12.10 with Rhythmbox 2.97. This bug is still present in
that Rhythmbox still does not handle a directory name change correctly.
The tracks are moved into Missing Files when a directory is renamed
using Nautilus, with Rhythmbox open. However, the metadata can be
recovered by
Rhythmbox already watches for new music files. Perhaps it should watch
for removed files too, so the moment it detects the simultaneous removal
and adding of a track with the same filename, it should interpret that
as a directory change and just update the directory path in the

I do transfer my profiles, but the bug is seen BEFORE I transfer
anything. I noticed this issue on 3 different computers.

I have similar problems.
$ sudo hdparm -tT /dev/sda
/dev/sda:
Timing cached reads: 3510 MB in 2.00 seconds = 1754.82 MB/sec
Timing buffered disk reads: 264 MB in 3.02 seconds = 87.49 MB/sec
hdparm -i shows it in udma6 mode. BUT, copy large files shows a transfer
rate of ~5MB/s.
Oh and of course the other interesting thing was that the NTFS partition
was at full speed both read and write even though they are on the same
physical drive as the slow ext3 partition.

I swapped in the smb-browse binary from comment 28. Seems to work, but
the only thing is it doesn't do is to save the passwords into the
keyring. Another big problem I discovered was that if you bookmark any
windows server (eg. smb://server ) that requires password in nautilus,
you will SLOW DOWN
