I can confirm that the workaround (installing esound) corrects the
problem. Thanks.

I can confirm this bug when working with MP3 files. Nautilus debug log
attached, although I don't think it will be of much use.
I ran lsof and compared results between a fresh boot and when the
problem is occurring. It seems to be characterized by nautilus opening

Sorry it took me so long to get back to you on this.
I get the same behavior in Hardy Heron. Udevd runs at very high

I can partially confirm this behavior. When I attempt to connect a
blackberry, the following occurs (dmesg snip)
[ 75.628000] usb 1-1: new full speed USB device using uhci_hcd and address 2
[ 75.788000] usb 1-1: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice
[ 75.928000] usbcore: registered new
OK - more info.
If I get into the udev race condition, I can get out of it thusly:
killall udevd
/etc/init.d/udev stop
rmmod berry_charge
(blacklist berry_charge as previously described)
/etc/init.d/udev start
I can then use bcharge in barry to charge the blackberry.
I don't know enough about
I have upgraded my system to Gutsy with network-manager 0.6.5-0ubuntu15 and
can confirm that the problem has been fixed.
Thanks.

I can also confirm this problem. You can disable wirless via network
manager, ifconfig interface down, and it will still pop up, get an
address, and hijack my routing and name servers.
