I renamed the .KDE directory and rebooted the computer. Instant cure. Further
investigation reveals that my problem was corrupt data in the Directory
.kde/share/config
Can supply the corrupt data if needed. Will not use marble as I blame it for
causing the crash.

I have a high resolution wide screen monitor, This seems to have delayed the
onset of this bug. Installed the world clock applet two days ago and while
trying it out plasma crashed, Had just updated the computer and the crash
probably activated the updates. Can only use KDE by using the alt F2
I think i have another version of this problem. On my computer mtink
reads the ink level on my Epson C87 printer and the printer
configuration tool can see the printer but no documents print. Python
is involved as the message is a python one (printer seems not to be
connected), and it is python

For the last few updates, not sure how many update notifier has crashed
at start up. Result is the adept data base is not notified of updates.
There has also been silent failures in which notifier runs??? but does
not initiate updates.

Unless this is a consequence of the incomplete install bug, this is an
old bug that has been overlooked. My symptoms are master controller
muted and volume turned right down. The other problems I checked all
seemed to have problems with
Mark this as solved. I got caught with the infamous incomplete install
or update bug. Managed to update the install data in adept. Then forced
adept to update all packages. Result was 61 files were updated. System
is now very stable and no more problems.

Sound updates have for some time caused the master controller in the
