Ubuntu Cosmic (18.10) still fails to load certain fonts at boot. The
problem is that setupcon has a bug in it that attempts to load the font
TWICE, which fails for certain types of fonts. The attached patch fixes
this issue.

Another comment: opening a shell and typing "ulimit -l" (max locked
memory) gives 16384 (ie, 16MB).

wodim no longer works from non-root a
The number of bytes being mmap()ed (12587008 bytes) may well be set in
/etc/wodim.conf, where the following line appears by default:
CDR_FIFOSIZE=12m
Commenting out this line seems to solve the immediate problem, as only
8192 bytes are now mmap()ed--but I have not tested it with a read CD-R
disc,
Further to my last comment, I'm wondering whether the actual number of
bytes that can be successfully mmap()ed is determined by how many other
pages are already mmap()ed. Therefore I've set CDR_FIFOSIZE=6m in my
/etc/wodim.conf. Hopefully that will work--I'll test it next time I
have a CD-R to bu

works for non-root users. Given that the cdrkit package itself has not
changed (version 9:1.1.11-3ubuntu2), the most likely culprit is in the

I have to admit that this bug has annoyed me: it should have been easy
to either apply the patch or package Bibletime 2.9.2, which fixes this
problem. So I decided to do so myself.
I have taken the Debian package of Bibletime 2.9.2-1 (in sid) and back-
ported to Debian Wheezy, Ubuntu Precise and
A simple work-around is to install the python2.4-subversion package at
the same time as installing python-subversion. Then, after a successful
installation, purge the python2.4-subversion package.
