How is this resolved? I'm having same problem but with ubuntu15.10 with kernel 4.2. Reboot works fine but when I try shutting down, I get to the ubuntu purple splash screen with text saying reboot: powering down or something like that and it just freeze. I waited like 4 hours and it's stuck. I had to manually power it off by holding the power button on the laptop. Need help with this problem. :(
