For the record: I had exactly this problem in my Lenovo X250 in late
April. Basically forcing be to reboot at least every second day. After
upgrading to 16.04 the problem has not been seen again.

Mickey's fix solve this for me too - when I later installed emacs23
update-alternatives cleaned out severel old references to xemacs21. Note
however that some files are left behind in /usr/share/xemacs21/ - the

Actually, I've just realized that it DOES work, but in a rather un-intuitive
way:
* Open the account dialog
* Select what you want to remove
* Press the Delete/Remove button on the right -> You will get a confirm dialog
that doesn't work
* CLOSE the account dialog (even though it is behind the co
Same here. I guess manually editing that section out of the accountrc
file is the primary route...

Well, it might be sort of related. I'm pretty sure it worked when I booted from
the live CD (as did the screen backlight keys, but I'm not sure it was using
nvidia at the time), so something is different from that state and it may well
be that the difference is the SHMConfig flag. If s

However, I'm a but stumped as I've failed to figure out the correct way
to enable SHMConfig in Natty. Things appear to have changed both inside

This thread was spot on for me. I have a (according to dmidecode) FUJITSU

I just installed 185.18.08 (had to clean out all old nvidia drivers from

As mentioned above, I no longer experince this issue, but I can say that I
never loaded any firmware that I'm aware of - unless you count ndiswrapper.
Previous models of MacBookPro required firmware for the webcam, but that has
never been needed on the 4,1 I have. So, from my point of view, fir
