Sigh,... sorry but the workaround appears not to survive reboots.
Same error again after reboot,... seems something gets "smartly" "fixed".

I have a workaround:
The problem appears to occur only when using the " add mobile broadband
connection wizard" from systemsettings-networksettings.
However, When you manually add the connection via the "edit connections
window", started from the bottom menu item of the network menu in the
"dash

this happened during installation of kubuntu-desktop. Ironically I tried
to install this because the latest versions of ubuntu-desktop and gnome-
ubuntu-desktop were behaving buggy, but this may be due to xorg. I had
an xorg error and bugrapport at each logon since lanst updat

tested both with rythmbox and clementine: GUI crashes (unity/lightdm and
gnome/gdm same issue) when trying to switch audiotrack. Well it hangs,
mousepointer inclusive and tty's via ALT+F? are no longer accessable
Computer is (sometimes) still accessable remotely via ssh but
IMHO, the best workaround is this:
cp /etc/default/locale /etc/default/locale_orig && locale > /etc/default/locale
then "vim /etc/default/locale"
in the command mode (type ESC twice to be sure), type this (you should see the
command at the bottom of the screen:

Indeed the disk was defect as tested afterwards with SMART-tools.
It may be a good idea to do such a test and report during the install to avoid
filling up the bugs database with disk-problems.

Back draw for grive-tools: The indicator appears to sync only one way: from
google-drive to local. Automatic or manual appears to make no difference: icon
is changing as if it is doing a sync when you changed something locally, but
when it is finished without error, nothing has changed in google
As a workaround I suggest using the grive-tools PPA:

Hello Jan,
Apparently the LTSP authentication method for the client is not the same
as for the server, I was to hastly to say that sssd was installed in the
LTSP client like it is on the server, it is not by default.
There are no errors "unix_chkpwd" in the logs but:

"chmod u+s /sbin/unix_chkpwd" does not appear resolve it
and I am using sssd to authenticate to ldap
The screen-lock doesn't work by default in LTSP, I had to activate it with
unity-tweak-tool.
But it is useless since unlock doesn't work.
Dismiss the bug please, apparently there must have been something wrong in the
config files.

After update to Ubuntu 13.04 I was unable to use unity as shell.
lxde and gnome appear to work fine.
When I choose unity the screen gives just the background and never arrives at
the the point where the quicklist is visible or the dash.

I found that it is possible to resolve all non-alignment issues by resizing the
problem partitions a bit with gparted, using a live-cd.
The only partition where gparted fails to do this, is the FAT16 Dell
diagnostics partition. Gparted ends with a numerical error on this (Which have
not noted do

All those broken apps like : k3b, vlc, kate, amarok work again.
